In a page of mourning notices’ we always arrive to the name
quick and we look and search

Someone put the reasoning behind it, is to make sure that
our name is not there somewhere

So in this page of mourning notices, I saw this week a notice
which announces with great sorrow the departure of certain Lady named
Zippora Yefet. May her memory be blessed

It says ‘with great sorrow we are announcing the departure
of our beloved – the centre of our life
‘and here of course came the name of the lady, may her memory be blessed.

I do not know the lady. And all my effort to get in touch with someone in the family has drawn a blank and so what left is for me to do is to try and describe the notice
.and from the notice we may learn and understand who was the lady

First of all Our Beloved and the Centre of Life to her Family
.and her nearest and dearest

This says that this lady is from a generation past, a bygone generation which is disappearing very fast

Probably in her house the whole family meet regularly and when I say all I mean all and every time the family is gathered in the great lady’s
house they meet in particular on Shabat and on Holy days

The walls of a house like this are probably elastic, to enable it to accommodate any number of family members or visitors who come to gather and rub shoulders with each other in the shadow and warmth of the great Mother
I am sure that in this house you do not have to tell in advance that two or three extra people are coming
because this great lady is well prepared to welcome and entertain even
thirty people with ease, even more so she does it with great
pleasure and happiness. Probably her children and grand
children are there because at
the bottom of the notice it says ‘Her husband, sons, daughters
sons in law, daughters in law
‘grandchildren and great grandchildren

And if we say that the great lady is the centre of life, probably this
house saw scores of people every day, and every Holy day and she
was the centre piece and the address and the centre of life

Now we shall hear the names of the children, this is the reason why I am telling you this story. From the names of the children we can
.learn about the Father, may he have long life
About the Mother in general and about this house
In this generation of ours with names like Tom and Sagit and Pazit and Shonit, Daniela and Michaela, and Gery and Savi and Mami.

You will agree with me that with the sons and daughters names like Ben Hail, Gideon, Gilad, Iftach, Hason, Tehila, Emuna, Agada, the sons that this is evidence and testament
that in this house, the flag of Israel is flying always and not only
.on Independence day
This house belongs to a generation which built this country and
has now disappeared and been forgotten without recognition

So, just from looking at the notice I am sending condolences to a family
which I build just by looking at the content of the
notice for the departed great
Lady and the names and titles of her children and I am sure the
description is true and authentic

Lets hope you have no more sorrow Yefet Family .
